Diego Armando Maradona was an Argentine professional football player and manager. He was regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, he was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award.

In Argentina, he was worshipped as 'El Dios' - The God - partly a play on words on his number 10 shirt, 'El Diez.' He was best known for leading Argentina to the 1986 World Cup title.

Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona has passed away at his home in Tigre after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of 60.
